Dr.-Ing. Otmane Azeroual is a senior researcher at the German Institute for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW) in Berlin. After studying Business Information Systems at the University of Applied Sciences (HTW) Berlin, he obtained his Ph.D. in Engineering Informatics at the Institute for Technical and Business Information Systems (ITI), Research Group Databases and Software Engineering of the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the University of Applied Sciences (HTW) Berlin. Since January 2021 he has also been a lecturer in the Digital Business & Data Science course at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences. Furthermore, since September 2022 he has been working on his habilitation thesis at the University of Hagen at the Chair for Databases and Information Systems. His research and teaching activities address digital corporate transformation, database systems, software engineering, artificial intelligence, data science and project management. In addition, he is actively involved in international cooperation with scientists and companies, e.g. in the context of research and consulting projects. As a senior researcher and expert in digital transformation, artificial intelligence and data science, Dr. Azeroual is fascinated by how digital technologies lead to new opportunities and paradigm shifts for companies, public organizations, society and individuals. He brings research and practice together and shares his expertise in the private sector. He is also the editor of various internationally renowned journals with the aim of networking and advancing research in the international academic community. His research results have been published in leading academic and practice-oriented journals.
