Keiichi Yamanaka is a Japanese Professor for Criminal Law (Emeritus of Kansai-University, Osaka). He received a scholarship from the Alexander von Humboldt-foundation (1980 till 1982) and in 2014 a doctorate honoris causa from the Law Faculty of the University of Göttingen and the Reimar Lüst-award from the Alexander von Humboldt-foundation. He published many articles in German language about various topics of Japanese criminal law theories, criminal policy and the history of criminal law in Japan. Many of his articles in German language are collected in: »Criminal Law Doctrines in the Japanese Risk-Society« (2008) and »History and Presence of Japanese Criminal Law Doctrines« (2012).
